NEILKUSENS
Operating executive · Business builder

Operator.Builder.Entrepreneur.

I build businesses, fix what is not working and turn ambitious ideas into operating reality.

I’ve spent most of my career building businesses. I’m a generalist by nature, happiest when there is a lot going on and I can move between the numbers, operations, technology, product and commercial sides of a company without worrying too much about where one job ends and another begins.

KHOAS

Building an AI-powered discovery engine for real life.

01

See the whole business

I connect product, people, process, technology and economics instead of treating them as separate conversations.

02

Get close to the numbers

P&L, cash flow, inventory, margin and operating data are not reporting exercises. They are how better decisions get made.

03

Build the system

I have led teams across finance, operations, marketing, sales, branding, product design, purchasing and forecasting, while building much of the underlying technology stack in-house.

04

Move

I am most useful when the mandate is broad, the environment is imperfect and the company needs someone who can decide, align and execute.

Community matters.

I spent four years on the board of Encino Little League, including serving as President for the 2025–26 season. It was part leadership role, part operating challenge and part reminder that the work worth doing is not always measured in revenue. I remain on the board and continue coaching.

I started by taking systems apart.

Long before startups, ecommerce and AI, I was part of the early personal-computer underground. The tools have changed. The instinct has not: understand how something works, find what others missed and build a better way through.

I am also a named inventor on issued U.S. patents covering patient safety and health-monitoring technologies, including stroke detection, fall-risk monitoring, hygiene compliance and bedsore prevention.
